  • CEPT University will engage with the partnering institution on facilitating improvements in teaching & learning and improving effectiveness of learning. CEPT University will provide assistance to the partnering institution in the following functions.
    1. Instituting a Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) and clarify its roles and responsibilities: The TLC will lead preparation work towards conducting studios, support sharing of good teaching practices among faculty members, partner with faculty to try novel teaching methods, and oversee registration, technology enhancement, enabling online learning resources and peer learning.
    2. Establishing studio units and supportive systems and processes: This will include supportive frameworks for organizing new tutor workshops, studio unit proposals, unit briefs, facilitated studio presentations, student interviews and allotment process.
    3. Setting up review processes for continual improvements: Helping put in palace a Board of Review to provide feedback on the work students produce during the semester.

  • This module is designed to assist faculty in cultivating foundational design skills among students, including visualization and drawing, analysis and interpretation, making and learning, conceptualization and representation, and reading and communication. Faculty members will receive access to course materials such as recorded lectures, guidelines, and samples, as well as ongoing guidance and support in areas such as selecting and training a teaching team, procuring hardware, software, online platforms, and teaching tools, and conducting capacity-building workshops and regular review sessions.

  • At CEPT University, studios are a crucial component of the undergraduate curriculum, with students expected to dedicate 70% of their time to studio courses. The Studio Units framework is based on the belief that learning is most effective when small groups of students work closely with a teacher, with opportunities for peer-to-peer and tutor-to-peer learning. We also emphasize a choice-based curriculum, enabling students to select studio units that align with their interests and preferences. The studio units are organized to facilitate collaborations, where second-year and third-year students study together at Level-2, and third-year and fourth-year students study together at Level-3, respectively. CEPT University will support partnering institutions in implementing this framework for Studio Units at Levels 2 and 3 as part of their curriculum.
CEPT University will provide technical support to partnering institutions in capacity building, system implementation for excellence, refining studio content, introducing administrative policies, setting up review processes and communication strategies, and rolling out a communication strategy for students and tutors.
Workshops and discussions will contextualize the implementation process over three years, with possibilities of student and faculty exchange during the mentorship tenure.
