CEPT University, in collaboration with CREDAI, presents a six-week Professional Certificate Program in Real Estate Development. This unique program is designed for real estate development professionals to equip them with practical knowledge and skills to make informed decisions, execute high-quality, profitable projects, and contribute to shaping their city’s landscape. The program will focus on real estate from the Urban Development, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering & Construction perspective.
The program will empower participants to respond to the rapidly changing urban landscape, technological advancements, and regulatory frameworks that shape real estate today. By integrating academic knowledge with practical insights, it will deliver an immersive learning experience in planning, policy, finance, design, construction, sustainability, and emerging trends in planning and architecture.
Through interactions with expert faculty members from CEPT University and industry leaders, participants will gain exposure to best practices and client-based solutions that help build trust and establish a reputable brand in the industry.
Program Structure
The Professional Certificate Program will adopt a multidisciplinary and practice-oriented pedagogy to meet participants’ present needs and future aspirations. The program will blend academic insights with practical application through expert-led sessions, real-world case studies, field trips, and applied tools. Each module will be delivered by faculty members from CEPT University and industry leaders, offering a balanced view of theory and practice. Interactive discussions, peer learning, and guest lectures by experienced policymakers and seasoned real estate developers will provide participants with a nuanced understanding of trends, innovations, and opportunities in the real estate sector. Participants will be introduced to tools and frameworks they can immediately apply in their contexts. Though not centered around a final project, the structure will encourage participants to connect insights from various modules to their real-world challenges, ensuring that learning remains relevant and actionable. The program will equip professionals with the clarity, competence, and confidence needed to strategically lead and manage successful real estate development.

Module 1: Better Urban Development, Better Real Estate
Better Urban Development leads to better Real Estate potential. This module will introduce participants to national-level policies, flagship programs, and large-scale government projects that are actively shaping and simulating India’s real estate landscape. It will delve into statutory urban planning tools such as Development Plans, Town Planning (TP) Schemes, Local Area Plans, and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), all of which enable structured, scalable, and strategic growth. The module will also examine how progressive urban design frameworks, building bylaws, and development regulations can unlock hidden value and drive more inclusive, sustainable, and profitable developments.

Module 2: Decoding Real Estate Market & Finance for Successful Projects
Informed decision-making lies at the core of successful and sustainable real estate ventures. This module is designed to equip participants with essential tools, frameworks, and analytical techniques to evaluate and manage real estate projects effectively. It will focus on the strategic importance of correct project positioning, selection of an optimal product mix, and alignment with local market dynamics and demand patterns. Participants will delve into key aspects such as feasibility analysis, viability evaluation, and financing mechanisms. By the end of the module, they will be able to assess the economic, technical, and market feasibility of projects to ensure they are both realistic and profitable.

The module delves into the powerful role that thoughtful design and robust engineering play in shaping high-value real estate developments. It will examine how the integration of master planning, urban design, architecture, and engineering principles can significantly enhance a project's functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, and market appeal. Participants will explore innovative approaches and emerging trends across a variety of asset classes, including housing, office spaces, co-working environments, retail hubs, and mixed-use developments. The module will also highlight case examples that demonstrate how design excellence and engineering innovation can unlock greater economic, environmental, and social value in real estate ventures.

Module 4: Green Buildings and Sustainability: Shaping the Future of Real Estate
This module introduces green building certification systems like GRIHA and LEED, helping participants understand performance benchmarks for sustainable real estate. It demystifies Environmental Clearances and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and highlights their role in unlocking development potential. Through case studies, it explores best practices in sustainable architecture and construction. Emphasizing environmental, social, and economic benefits, the module equips participants to design and deliver responsible projects aligned with global sustainability goals and evolving regulatory requirements.

Module 5: Efficient Construction & Project Management for Successful Developments
The module will provide a deep dive into the principles and practices of project planning and construction management specific to the real estate sector. participants will explore various components of construction management, including emerging construction systems and technologies that are transforming the real estate sector. The module will also cover the crucial aspects of planning and execution of tall buildings and introduce Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a critical tool for enhancing efficiency, collaboration, and precision in modern construction practices. They will also examine cost-efficiency strategies, value engineering, and lifecycle cost optimization, enabling them to deliver projects that are not only well-designed but also economically viable. The module also covers MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing), HVAC, building services, and other key measures essential for ensuring quality construction management.

Module 6: Best Practices for Success in Real Estate Development
Excellence in real estate stems from strategic thinking, ethical practices, and adaptability. This concluding module highlights best practices that drive long-term success, with a strong focus on ethics, trust-building, and client-centric delivery. Participants will explore techniques for identifying and managing project risks while gaining insights into evolving market trends and emerging real estate typologies. The module encourages innovation and equips participants to stay ahead of industry changes by aligning strategy with integrity and responsiveness to market dynamics.
Applications and Admissions
This program is Open to CREDAI members only. Applicants should have a diploma or degree in any stream and a minimum of 3 Years of work experience, preferably in real estate development. As the medium of delivery is English, proficiency in the language is required.
The program application will open from 1st June 2025. After receiving the online application, CREDAI will nominate a group of applicants to CEPT on a first-come-first-served basis. CEPT will decide on the final list of participants after a round of online interviews.
